Star Wars Fandom: An Analysis of the Generational Divide and the Misconceptions of Participatory Culture
I went to university to study Theatre Directing. Within three months I knew I had to make a choice due detachment that had grown between me and the course I was on ; drop out or study something else. I chose to finish year studying film, jumping head first into the deep end to study a highly academic and theoretical course where I studied post-war cinema, post-modernism, digital convergence and fandom. And I had never written an essay before I went to university, much less read and studied to inform a methodology, literature review and present a theoretical argument and thesis. The fact I have secondary sources listed as primary is just evidence of this.
It is a bit, for lack of a better word, cringe. But this was my best effort as a thoroughly unacademic student pretending to be smarter that he was at the time.
